Velo

Our Vision

"Connecting the world, one payment at a time"

Seamless, instant, and transparent transfers between local payment apps.

Our Story

Like many great ideas, Velo started out of frustration. As three university students from Israel and the United States, we experienced firsthand how difficult it was to move money between countries.

For Ronia, an international student living in Israel, this challenge showed up constantly. Simple things like splitting a bill or paying for a taxi often became unnecessarily complicated when people used different payment apps.

Small payments that should take seconds lead to complex bank transfers, new app downloads, or expensive ATM fees.

In Israel, everyone uses Bit. In the United States, Venmo dominates. Both work smoothly, until you need to pay someone across a border. Cash is disappearing, but local payment apps still don’t work internationally. The more people we spoke with, the more we realized this wasn’t just our problem. International students, travelers, and people living between countries were all facing the same challenge. The problem wasn't the payment apps themselves. The problem was that they weren't connected.

We built Velo to change that.

Our Mission

Our platform connects the local payment apps you already use, starting with Venmo ↔ Bit, so money can move smoothly across borders without unnecessary friction.

We're starting with the communities we know best: international students, travelers, and people living abroad. But our vision is much bigger– to connect payment ecosystems worldwide.

Because living abroad is already complicated. Sending money shouldn't be.
